The 9th Open Eyes Economy Summit Was Held in Kraków, Focusing on Sustainability and Innovation

ILA participated in the 9th Open Eyes Economy Summit (OEES) held on 19-20 November 2024 in Kraków, Poland. The summit, renowned as a global platform for innovation and the economy of values, brought together business leaders, academics, NGOs, and policymakers to explore transformative ideas for sustainable development, digital transformation, and ethical economics.

As part of its “Academy for Responsible Development” project, it engaged in dynamic discussions addressing sustainability challenges and innovative solutions. With sessions such as “How to Educate Youth Towards Sustainable Development” and “New Technologies for Green Transformation,” the summit highlighted critical themes that align with ILA’s mission to promote responsible socio-economic growth through education and collaboration.

The OEES provided ILA and the project consortium a unique opportunity to network with over 5,000 participants and gain insights from global thought leaders. Through its involvement, ILA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering values-based economic practices and empowering youth to lead change in an increasingly interconnected world.

The summit’s emphasis on aligning economic strategies with ethical and sustainable practices underscores the shared vision of creating a resilient and inclusive global economy.

“Academy for Responsible Development” Project’s Transnational Project Meeting Was Held in Krakow, Poland, on 17 – 22 November 2024

Key discussions centred around the imminent closing of the Academy of Responsible Development project, including reviews of the piloting phase and the Video-on-demand (VOD) resources. Strategies for promoting the project’s outcomes, evaluating its impact, and participating in an upcoming international congress were also explored.

The meeting emphasized the importance of disseminating project results through presentations, workshops, and interactive exhibits at the congress while fostering integration among students from the Academies in Poland, Netherlands, Italy, and Turkey.

Impact:
The “Academy for Responsible Development” project increased young people’s awareness and social commitment to sustainable development. The project created an innovative e-learning tool for the youth workers, describing the Academy of Responsible Development model.

At the end of March, the third module of the Responsible Development Academy project in Poland began with the theme “Good Energy”.

The time has come to put theoretical knowledge into practice! During the meeting, participants of the Zero Waste module presented the results of the social projects they had been working on for several weeks.

One of the points in the program of the “Zero Waste in Practice” module was a meeting at the Waste Processing Plant in Krakow. The participants had the opportunity to spend time at the Krakow eco-incinerator.
